There is research to suggest that first soaking and then drying nuts makes them easier to digest by reducing naturally occurring enzyme inhibitors. This process is referred to as making crispy nuts and is generally deemed to be more healthful than eating raw nuts. This is a basic recipe for soaking nuts.
