Dehydrated Tofu Jerky | Commercial Dehydrators

If you’ve ever wondered what tofu’s tastes like when it’s been marinated and dehydrated, well wonder no more – it flavor is frankly amazing; it's chewy, it's ‘meaty’ and packed with protein making this the perfect snack. Ingredients
  • 1 pound of extra firm tofu
  • 2 tbsp liquid smoke
  • 1/3 cup of low sodium soy sauce
  • 1/8 cup of water
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 crushed garlic clove
  • 1 tbsp onion powder
  • 1 tbsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp brown sugar
  • 6 eggs

Instructions
  1. Drain then squeeze water out of tofu as much as you can. Place tofu on a clean dish; place paper towels over it and push the down on the brick with your hands for few seconds.
  2. Slightly grease a dehydrator fruit roll sheets with paper towel.
  3. Break eggs into blender and whip into uniform mixture. Transfer slurry egg into fruit-roll sheet and place in a dehydrator, and then dry at 145°F for 16 hours or until totally brittle.
  4. Transfer dried eggs in a coffee grinder or blender and process to a fine powder.
  5. Store in an air-tight bag.
