Black beans are a great addition to any camping diet. They can be rehydrated into a quick meal that is rich in fiber, iron and minerals. Black Bean Soup, Black Bean Burritos, or Beans and Rice can be made with just a few basic ingredients.

  • Canned black beans

  1. Drain the beans then rinse thoroughly.
  2. Place on the dehydrator trays in a single layer.
  3. Dehydrate at 125°F for 8-12 hours. Some will split but many will remain whole.
  4. Let cool, then store in airtight containers.
