Ingredients
  • 6 cups dehydrated sliced sweet potatoes
  • 1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1 quart (4 cups) orange juice
  • 3 cups water
  • 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F.
  2. Combine all the ingredients in a large saucepan and bring to a boil,stirring to combine well. Remove the pan from heat and let sit for 10 minutes. Stir, then pour the contents into a 10-inch square deep-dish baking dish, cover, and bake for 50 minutes.
  3. Uncover and bake for another 10 minutes to brown the top.
