- 21 ounces beef round steak, cubed, trimmed of fat
- 1 cup onions, chopped
- 3 cups water
- 1/4 cup white flour
- 4 3/4 cups dehydrated mashed potatoes
- 1 cup milk
- 1 tablespoon margarine
- 2 cans peas
- 1 teaspoon garlic
- Salt
- 1 teaspoon pepper, optional
- Combine beef and onions in a skillet and cook until browned.
- Add 3 cups of water to the beef, add garlic, salt and any favorite seasonings then cook on medium heat for 40 minutes, or until tender.
- Stir in flour, reduce to low heat and cook with occasional stirring for about 3 to 5 minutes. Remove from heat.
- Prepare the dehydrated mashed potatoes with 1 cup of milk, 1 tablespoon margarine and enough water to desired consistency.
- Cook canned peas in a saucepan until heated through, about 2 minutes (you can add seasonings if desired).
- Serve beef and gravy with mashed potatoes and peas.
