- 1 recipe Bell Pepper-Tomato-Oregano Breadcrumbs
- 1 pound mild bulk pork sausage
- 2 pounds large fresh white button mushrooms, wiped clean and stems removed
- Preheat the oven to 400°F.
- In a medium bowl, mix the breadcrumbs and raw sausage together, then place a heaping spoonful in the center of each mushroom cap. Set the stuffed caps on top of a broiler pan, add 1/4 inch water to the bottom of the pan, and cover with aluminum foil. Bake for 40 minutes.
- Uncover the pan and bake until the sausage is completely cooked through and the mushrooms are tender, another 10 minutes.
