Baked Candied Cinnamon Apples | Commercial Dehydrators

Ingredients
  • 6 cups boiling water
  • 3 cups dehydrated sliced apples
  • 1 cup water
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/3 cup red cinnamon candies
  • 1/4 cup (1/2 stick) butter
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch

  1. In a large heatproof bowl, combine the boiling water and dehydrated apples, cover, and let sit for 15 minutes to rehydrate. Drain off any remaining water (do not squeeze the water out or pat the apples dry).
  2. Preheat the oven to 350°F. Spray a 10-inch square baking dish withcooking spray.
  3. In a small saucepan, bring the 1 cup water, sugar, and candies to a boil,stirring constantly. Reduce the heat to a simmer and cook until thickened, 3 to 5 minutes. Remove from the heat and set aside.
  4. Add the butter to the apples and stir to coat the apples evenly with the melted butter. Add the lemon juice and cornstarch and stir to combine. Pour the mixture into the baking dish. Drizzle the candy sauce over the apples and let sit for 15 minutes; do not stir. Bake until the apples are golden brown, about 35 minutes. Enjoy warm.
